Our team is made up of experienced builders, carpenters, and tradespeople who take pride in their work. With strong relationships across Salt Spring Island, we collaborate closely to deliver thoughtful, well-built projects for the community.

MICHAEL PLEWMAN

BUILDER + OWNER

Growing up in Toronto exposed Michael to the energy of a fast-paced city, but he always felt drawn to a quieter way of life. After five years living and working abroad, a visit to Salt Spring Island introduced him to the community he would call home.

Michael moved to Salt Spring Island twelve years ago, where he completed his Red Seal Carpentry certification through Camosun College. After completing his training, he established Plewman Construction to continue developing his skills while contributing to the island’s builder community.

Michael is involved in the day-to-day coordination of each project — managing budgets, tracking progress, and ensuring work is completed to a high standard. His relationships with local sub-trades and focus on clear communication help keep projects moving, even when challenges arise. Michael takes pride in following through, resolving details, and delivering spaces that stand the test of time.

Today, Salt Spring Island is home for Michael and his family, where he and his wife are raising their two children. When he’s not on site, he enjoys trail running with his dog, spending time with friends and family, and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai.
